Pakistan says it wants to host Nepal, Afghanistan & World XI cricket series

Kathmandu : Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Sheharyar Khan Thursday said that cricket teams of Afghanistan, Nepal and World XI are interested to play cricket matches in Pakistan, however PCB is waiting for security situation to be improved in the country.
According to local reports, Khan, who was speaking at the board’s meeting on Thursday said that the PCB has also prepared budget for the proposed matches and is currently waiting for government’s formal approval. “Joyles Clarke of ICC played a key role to invite cricketing nations to Pakistan, he said while speaking at PCB’s annual General Body session in Lahore.


He told participants that PCB has also prepared budget for the proposed tours of international and is currently waiting for government’s formal approval.

Nepalese Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun off to China for official visit

Leading an 11-member delegation, Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun on Friday left for Kunming of China on a week-long official visit. He was accompained by his spouse Hastamali, personal secretary Suk Bahadur Roka, Secretary at the Office of Vice- President Rajendra Kishor Chhetri, press coordinator Manoj Gharti and Lieutenant Colonel Manoj Kumar Silwal among others. June 7: The final rites of senior musician Ambar Gurung will be performed according to both Hindu and Buddhist rituals. Gurung died early this morning while undergoing treatment at Grande International Hospital. The body of late Gurung has been kept at Nepal Academy from the hospital and would be kept there till 3:00 pm for last tribute, said Raju Gurung, the sone of late Amber Gurung. Raju said that the final rites of his father would be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today through both rituals. People from different sectors have now started arriving at Nepal Academy Hall to pay tribute to late Gurung.Gurung was suffering from diabetes, blood pressure and Parkinson since long and was undergoing treatment at Grande Hospital for the past one week. Born on February 25, 1938 in Darjeeling, Gurung was not only a music compser, but was also known as a singer and a lyricist. He had recorded his first song 'Nau Lakh Tara Udaaye' in Kolkata in 2018 BS. He also served as music director at the Nepal Academy from 2026 BS and honoured with Gorkha Dakshina Bahu in 2027 BS. He has given music for Nepali films including 'Mero Desh' Sapana Katipaye', 'Man Ko Bandh' and 'Jeevan Rekha', said Prakash Sayemi, a poet and film director. Gurung has composed over 1,000 songs including 'Rato Ra Chandra Surya','Nau Lakh Tara Udaaye' amd 'Ma Amber Hun, Timi Dharti'. He was first chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama.
